| Joseph Cook, Jr. is a founder of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals and serves as its chairman of the board. Mr. Cook is also chairman of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. where he served as chairman and CEO from March 1998 to September 2003. He is also founder of Mountain Group Capital, LLC, a private investment company; Clinical Products, a company marketing a medical food for diabetes; and Mountain Ventures, Inc., a real estate development company. He serves on the board of directors for Corcept Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. He is a founder of Life Science Advisors and Cambrian Associates, two consulting companies serving the healthcare industry. Mr. Cook spent 28 years at Eli Lilly and Co. He retired from Lilly in 1993 after spending his last seven years there in a variety of senior management positions. |
