Peter M. Hecht, Ph.D.

| Peter M. Hecht has served as Ironwood’s chief executive officer since the Company’s founding in 1998. Prior to founding Ironwood, Dr. Hecht was a research fellow at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. Dr. Hecht serves on the boards of directors of Whitehead Institute and Microbia, Inc., Ironwood’s majority-owned subsidiary. He also serves on the Leadership Council for The David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the advisory board of Infante Sano. Dr. Hecht earned a B.S. in mathematics and an M.S. in biology from Stanford University, and holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California at Berkeley. |
