| Jeff Johnston has served as Ironwood's vice president of clinical development and chief medical officer since September 2005. Previously, he served as chief medical officer and vice president of drug development at Critical Therapeutics, where he built the company's clinical infrastructure and led its first clinical research program into Phase 2 human studies. Prior to that, Johnston was vice president of clinical research at Triangle Pharmaceuticals and spent more than a dozen years in positions of increasing seniority in the clinical development organization at GlaxoSmithKline. Johnston earned a B.S. in biology from Davidson College and holds a medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt and his infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine |
